We’re not letting the pandemic cancel our annual celebration – we’re going virtual! For the tenth straight year, we are celebrating summer with a Virtual Back to School Carnival for North Philadelphia patients and families. Since the carnival’s inception, the free event has entertained nearly 13,000 children and their families, and provided school supplies to thousands of children. The free event is hosted by St. Christopher’s Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs and Drexel University College of Medicine.
This year, we have moved fun events online and are giving away backpacks full of essential school supplies for pre-K through high school kids in a drive-up distribution. The virtual carnival will go live at 9:00 a.m. on August 14th and include five tents for kids and families:
will hold live events at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and Noon via Zoom.
will have videos of celebrities and entertainers demonstrating games kids can play at home.
will have pre-recorded videos of sing-alongs, read-alongs and even a kids’ yoga instructor.
will include recipes and tutorials for creating your favorite carnival snacks at home.
will offer resources for kids and families throughout the city.
will offer health tips such as proper hand-washing, at-home exercise ideas and videos, and more.
As we put the final touches on Carnival plans, we need your help in donating school supplies, activities and giveaways for the event and supporting St. Christopher’s Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs. There are sponsorship opportunities for every budget. Custom sponsorships are available.Get Sponsor details!
